Common causes
An inverter mini-split may run for long periods at low speed to maintain the temperature, and this can be normal. If it runs continuously at high output, does not reach the set temperature or will not shut off when it should, possible causes include very dirty filters, incorrect fan settings, a temperature sensor problem, low refrigerant or a fault in the electronic control system.
When to request service
First confirm the temperature setting, check that the operating mode and fan speed are configured correctly and clean the filters according to the manufacturer's instructions. If the system continues running at high output, does not reach the desired temperature, will not respond to the remote when you try to turn it off, displays an error code or has other symptoms, request professional diagnosis. Do not open or handle electrical or refrigerant components.
How much can this repair cost?
Basic air conditioning repairs or initial work typically range from $650–$1,200 MXN. Repairs requiring parts or more extensive work can range from $1,200–$5,500+ MXN.
The final cost depends on the cause of the problem, diagnosis, labor, required parts and materials. Replacement parts are quoted separately when applicable.
